An Introduction
Greetings, prospective magi; if you are currently reading this text, it is highly likely that you are standing within the confines of the Grand Archives, nestled neatly within the main campus building of Ulreich University. This book is one of a trilogy you have encountered upon a pedestal within the back of said library, and contains information regarding the universal spells that have been taught over the course of the establishments history.
If you posses any fears (or perhaps ill intent) to take this book for yourself and go on your way, know that a powerful enchantment will activate upon leaving the archives, creating a mundane and non magical copy that will remain in your possession while transporting the original back to its resting place. This enchanted tome (as well as its two sisters) possess the ability to be constantly updated via my own method, so have no fears of these collections lacking information, or being out of date.
Although I am sure some of you may be wondering, my identity is ultimately unimportant to the purpose these books serve. I am simply a scholar at heart that wishes to chronicle all
useful information for beginner or adept students alike, in a method that is both organized, but also pleasing to read. Attempting to disregard the non-importance of my identity is unwise, as I assure you that any of you who would not respect my wish for privacy do not contain the abilities to track me down. If the need is ever to rise, I will reveal myself, but until that moment, I prefer to remain anonymous.
If you've gotten this far, it is safe to assume that you wish only to peer through the various techniques that have been taught by the teachers of the University, and for that I applaud you. To end a day with more information within your mind than when it started is to truly succeed in life, remember this always.
Knowledge is not power, but rather the container in which power may express itself with safety.
